Our Story

Our founder, Dan King Sr., started the Dan King Plumbing Company in 1971. The humble beginnings of a one-man, one-truck company eventually transformed into a major operation that employs more than 60 people. Our motto is, “Not the Oldest, but the Best” and we work hard to live up to that each and every day. Here are some of the milestone moments in our company’s history:

• 1985 – Dan King Jr. joins the business after obtaining his mechanical license, bringing his experience in HVAC. Over the next decade, the company would grow from one employee to 20 and add a construction plumbing department. Tragically, Dan Sr. passed away during this period of substantial growth and did not live to see the hard work that Dan Jr. put into the business. Soon, Dan King Plumbing, Heating and AC would become a well-known name throughout the Charlotte area.
• 1995 – Dan King Jr. hires Mike Fowler, who had formerly held a management position with United Parcel Service (UPS). Together, they help grow the company to where it made $8 million profit from 1995-1999.
• 2003 – Dan Jr., Mike and Tom Rea Jr. become equal partners in the business.
